This section of Connecting the PWS Dots contains full-length articles on a variety of important issues for those with Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) and their parents and/or caretakers, including:

  • The use of carnitine (L-carnitine and acetyl-l-carnitine) for the impaired energy metabolism, including impaired mitochondrial function and fatty acid metabolism, in PWS.
  • The use of Coenzyme Q10 for PWS (also for impaired mitochondrial function).
  • The critically important issue of respiratory impairment in PWS, including hypoventilation and sleep apnea.
  • A compilation of the various safety guidelines for growth hormone treatment of those with PWS, as recommended by PWS clinicians, researchers, growth hormone manufacturers, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

There are other articles that I am working on regarding other aspects and issues pertaining to PWS, so if you have found the information here useful, you might like to subscribe to the update e-mail list.
